Context

In May 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I launched Dibujitos Bangtan, a Facebook page where I combined my love for illustration, music, and storytelling. At the time, listening to BTS and discovering the depth of their lyrics inspired me to illustrate verses that resonated with me. The project became both a creative outlet and a personal refuge, helping me stay motivated during a difficult time.

Role & Participation

I managed the project independently, taking care of:

• Illustrating BTS song lyrics and verses through drawings.
• Translating lyrics from Korean into Spanish to capture their nuances more faithfully.
• Writing captions and narratives to accompany each illustration.
• Engaging with the community of K-pop fans (ARMYs) through Facebook posts and comments.
• Experimenting with animation, creating one piece that gained international reach.

Creative Process

1. Inspiration: Selected BTS lyrics with poetic or emotional resonance.
2. Translation: Used my Korean learning to understand subtle meanings and reflect them visually.
3. Illustration: Created hand-drawn and digital pieces to translate the lyrics into visual narratives.
4. Experimentation: Expanded from drawings to an animated illustration, testing new ways to connect.
